Ben Banks
Just an update: Tomorrow I'm leaving for Utah for 4 weeks to work as Costume Designer on the indie film BEN BANKS. Everyone involved in the movie is unbelievably supportive and positive and inspiring. Tons of amazing brands have rallied to be involved in the film: Alternative Apparel, RVCA, Atwater, Converse, Volcom, Toddland, Zuriick, and my dear friend Lillian Crowe Jewelry. I'll be posting pics and updates and probably more landscape snaps than you'd ever care to see here. My associate Jazzi McGilbert will be doing the same on her (far-more-amazing) blog.

StyleLikeU
This past April I was featured on StyleLikeU.com, which was founded by the unstoppable Elisa Goodkind and Lily Mandelbaum.
You can check it out here.
It was filmed at my mom's house two nights before i moved to Los Angeles. Interestingly enough, that probably made it easier because it was just everything i had in my suitcase for the first month of couch-surfing. And it's all stuff i really wear, instead of the shredded vintage dress, beaded bolero, etc--the dream items you have in your closet but never find a reasonable moment to wear unless you're procrastinating around your house...
BUT if you want to see something really inspiring, check out my dearest friend Olivia's closet here! And she actually wears ALL OF THOSE AMAZING THINGS, looking like the most glamorous vision somewhere between The Fountainhead, Great Gatsby, and Studio 54.
And since this post is somewhat image-deprived, here are three lovely Olivias in her studio.

Cosmic Cement

I haven't updated in an unforgivable amount of time. Please forgive me and blame it on the visual overload from the past six months. And a really slow macbook...
Moving forward I have a lot of really exciting things to share--new designers, amazing images, and lots of behind-the-scenes for a movie I'm working on in August. I'm going to try to find some way to facilitate uploading images to the blog. And of course make up for the last few months.
First though, look at these pieces by NOGA WINOKUR. She is a jewelry designer based out of Tel Aviv and the loveliest person i've ever encountered. She finds crushed cement pieces around her neighborhood and weaves these outrageously intricate pieces--both delicate and crazy hardcore, her work just blows me away. I didn't get a shot of it but the necklace is actually grounded by a metal car parts. The earrings are mounds of cement with mirrored porcelain. And just wait til i get a shot of the bracelet with shards of glass...

Venice Bungalow
I landed in L.A. 3 1/2 weeks ago, and with deep gratitude to several of my friends, have successfully couch-surfed until I moved into my new house (!) over the weekend. Meanwhile, all last week, I had the greatest pleasure to (over)stay at a friend of the family's Venice bungalow.
The interior: Think cob-webbed Basquiat genius anarchy. It was beyond cool, although it smelled a bit like moth balls and cat (on a bad day, what i think my future might smell like). Here are some snaps!

PS the next few posts will be more Venice!

Some Gems
Drop me off anywhere in the world and my idea of acclimation is finding a flea market, haggling to an embarrassing degree, and, if I have the restraint to wait, finding a dry cleaners. All within the first few days. L.A. has amazing flea markets, and I haven't even been to the Rose Bowl yet. Here are some of my finds, at $30 or less, of course!
